First of all a wee update on Julietta, the 10 year old that I met in Malawi in September. Julietta was left with a fistula after giving birth in the summer, Margaret emailed me to let me know she has had her operation and is now doing well. Margaret also mentioned she would be “happy” to receive more underwear for the women, so after that subtle hint guess I better get packing for them!
Everyone I have spoken to had a great time at our Frock Swap in Dirty Martini. We managed to raise a fantastic amount of money for Smalls for All and collected over 200 pairs of pants. For those of you who went I hope you had a great time and that you managed to get something new-to-you for your wardrobe. I also want to say a huge thank you to the stalls who came on the night too. Julieanne Spence (Partylite Candles), Julie Hyslop (Julie Hyslop Jewellery), Justine Jones and Lynn Reid (Angel Designs Jewellery) and Leanne Duly (Body Shop). And a special thanks to Sarah Scott, Rachael Welsh, Fiona Holmes, Denise Ferguson, Rosslyn Barr, Constance Bartley and Leigh Maclennan for organising the event, and for all their help on the night.
5 weeks until Christmas so if you are looking for ideas I have Spree books (Edinburgh & Lothians, Glasgow and Fife) and of course the pantastic canvas shopper bag. And time is running out for sending Christmas cards, so get your orders in now to make sure you get your cards out on time!
Thanks to Diane Floyd, Julie Smith, Clare Morrison, Melanie Walker, Janette Cullen and Moyra Allen for their donations of underwear. And to Sharon Blair, Julie Hyslop, Jim Pringle, Diane Floyd and Moyra Allen for their monetary donations. And a special thanks to Anne Fallon for her constant stream of books, fair to say that she has been a major contributor of books since 2009 for our book sales.
