24,325 is the new total

Thanks to Colin and Leigh, Justine and Lynn (www.angeldesignsjewellery.co.uk), Nicola, Esme and Michelle for donating underwear this month and also to the 2 people who sent me underwear but didn’t give their names.

Also thank you to Aileen from Forres for organising another collection and to the ladies of Forres and the surrounding areas for supporting Aileen’s collection.

Thanks to Janet and her friends and colleagues at Barclays in Southampton. Kevin the pants mule delivered the undies they donated with no problems. Unfortunately he didn’t get stopped at Edinburgh airport with a bag full of pants and bras!

We have had lots of support from collections organised by Pam (Concepts) in Kidderminster and Gillian at The Royal College of Midwives in Edinburgh has also kindly donated.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us since we started at the end of 2009, we have now donated over 20,000 items of underwear to women and children in Kenya, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone!

In the recently improved stockroom (thanks to my willing team of volunteers!) there are 12 bags of undies destined for Sierra Leone and Kenya (through the Gloag Foundation). There are also 2 half packed suitcases as I’ve started packing for my trip back to Kenya in August.

Fortunately 11 boxes holding a mix of bras and pants (total 2017) destined for Zimbabwe were transported down to Ipswich at no cost to Smalls! Thanks very much to David Trotman, D&D Stainless Steel based in Livingston for letting us use the service.

PS we now have 45 people who “like” us on facebook!
